Yeast infection / Candida

Posted by be in mood Thursday, 1 December 2011

Yeast infection, or 'Candida' is a typical cause of vaginal inflammation. Candida is a yeast fungus that occur naturally in the vagina.

It is not usually sexually transmitted. Candida does not necessarily cause any symptoms. If there are symptoms, they are usually an itching, rashing sensation in the vagina. It might also cause an additional discharge reminiscent of cottage cheese.
Boys contract Candida sexually and it manifests itself as itching and rashing around the penis.

Candida is treatable with suppositories, lotion or pills. You can get screened for Candida at your doctor.

Use of condom protects boys from getting Candida.
